Looks like TechSmith is giving away the farm this month. Now you can get the SnagIt Screen capture software free too. Seems to be the same campaign. They give you the older version and try to upsell you to the newer one.

Pick this up while you can. I paid $300 for Camtasia 5 and now they’re giving away Camtasia 3 for free. I don’t know how long this will last, so scoop it up while it’s still available.

At first, I thought this was one of those messages like Microsoft wants to pay you $100 for every email you send, but this one is the real deal.

The campaign TechSmith seems to be running is, you download Camtasia 3 and then they try to upsell you to Camtasia 5, but there’s no other catch.

You won’t have the latest version of Camtasia, but honestly, who cares Camtasia 3 works just fine.
